In the late morning of August 14, 2021, a verbal dispute in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood escalated into a fatal shooting, claiming the life of 23-year-old Dontrez D. Lewis. An African American male from Mobile, Alabama, Lewis was found on Andrew J. Hairston Boulevard with multiple gunshot wounds.
