In the late afternoon of a summer Sunday, a dispute inside the food court of the Macon Mall would end in the tragic death of 17-year-old Quentavious Moore. On August 1, 2021, an argument between two men escalated into a physical altercation, culminating in gunfire that echoed through the mall shortly after 4 p.m. Moore sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
