In the early morning hours of a Saturday in April 2021, a dispute that began among women inside a Valdosta, Georgia nightclub would ultimately lead to the tragic death of Leon Thomas Jr., a 31-year-old man from the neighboring Brooks County. The initial argument escalated, drawing in several men who then moved the confrontation to the parking lot of a business nearby.
