On the evening before Thanksgiving, November 27, 2019, tragedy struck in Waynesboro, Georgia, at the Magnolia Acres Housing Authority Complex. A shooting shattered the night's quiet around 8:15 p.m., leaving a young man's life cut short. Tacorey Brigham, a 17-year-old African American male from the nearby town of Girard, was identified as the victim. Despite the immediate response from the Waynesboro Police Department and Burke County deputies, Brigham succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
