In the summer of 2015, a tragedy struck the community of Waynesboro, Georgia, with the death of Samuel D. Freeman, a 30-year-old African American male. On the evening of July 1st, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Freeman was on the 800 block of Cedar Street when he was shot multiple times. One of the gunshots fatally wounded him in the torso, and he also sustained injuries to his right leg.
