In the pre-dawn hours of September 1, 2017, a violent ambush shattered the quiet of a Stone Mountain, Georgia neighborhood. Phillip Lamar Davis, a 47-year-old male and disabled Gulf War veteran, was fatally shot at his home on Mountain Oaks Parkway. The attack occurred around 6 a.m. as Davis was preparing to leave with his wife.
