In the bright afternoon of Thursday, May 19, 2011, the life of 19-year-old Marcus Nickens Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short on a street in South Baltimore. Around 1:00 p.m., in the Brooklyn neighborhood at the intersection of 10th Street and Stoll Place, gunshots shattered the day's calm.
