In the winter of 2016, the community of Port Wentworth, Georgia, was unsettled by a grim discovery that marked the untimely end of a young man's life. On December 7th, the body of 27-year-old Autura V. Johnson, an African American male from the nearby city of Statesboro, was found inside a vehicle parked near a woodline in the 200 block of Flonell Avenue. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
