In the early morning hours of November 7, 2015, in Waycross, Georgia, the life of 24-year-old Black female Shanique Bellamy was tragically cut short. Bellamy, who was six months pregnant, was fatally shot inside her home on Owens Street. The violence of that night also extended to her two young children, ages one and three, who were found with gunshot wounds. First responders pronounced Bellamy dead at the scene, while her children were rushed to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
