In the late summer of 2015, the quiet neighborhood of Silos of Ellington in western Newton County was rocked by a senseless act of violence that claimed the life of 26-year-old Nigiel Cliffard James. On the first of September, James was tragically gunned down during an attempted robbery. The young man was discovered on the ground, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he succumbed to them.
