In a tragic and violent turn of events, eight-year-old Grayden Lee Whitmore’s life was cut short on Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Varnell, Georgia. He was a student at Beaverdale Elementary School. The young boy was fatally shot by his father, 36-year-old Christopher Eric Whitmore, in a harrowing murder-suicide that also claimed the life of his mother, 27-year-old Melissa Ball.
