On the evening of January 10, 2015, in Atlanta's Castleberry Hill neighborhood, 26-year-old Donovan 'Big Nut' Thomas, an African American male, was standing outside a barbershop on McDaniel Street when he was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting. Two other individuals, another man and a 14-year-old boy, were also injured in the attack but survived.
