On a cold January morning in 2015, the body of 19-year-old Derrick Montez Johnson, a Black male, was discovered in the front yard of a home on Pinson Street in Newnan, Georgia. Johnson had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe he was killed hours before his body was found by a passerby around 7 a.m. on January 2nd. Family and friends reported that Johnson had been walking home from a party around 1:30 a.m. that morning.
