In the spring of 2005, a promising young life was tragically cut short in Atlanta, Georgia. Eddie Amaan Dhameer Shaheed, a 17-year-old male, was killed on May 30, 2005. The young man, known to his loved ones as 'Mon,' was walking with friends on Cascade Avenue in the southwestern part of the city when they had a verbal altercation with another group. As Shaheed turned to walk away from the confrontation, he was fatally shot in the back of the head.
