In the early morning hours of February 2, 1987, the city of Augusta, Georgia, was the scene of a tragic event that would claim the life of a dedicated law enforcement officer. Bruce Williford, a 28-year-old white male, had served as a deputy with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office for seven years.
