On a Wednesday in March of 1901, Columbus Police Officer William S. Elliott responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on 5th Avenue. It was a call that would tragically be his last. Upon his arrival and subsequent entry into a room within the house, Officer Elliott was immediately shot and killed by the suspect involved in the domestic dispute.
