On a Sunday in Baltimore, the life of a young Black man, Lloyd Mckinley Melton, was cut short. At the age of 21, on September 14, 2008, Melton was found the victim of a shooting in the vicinity of the 2100 block of Boston Street.
Emergency services transported him to Johns Hopkins Hospital in a fight for his life. Tragically, the efforts to save him were unsuccessful, and he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The cause of his death was officially recorded as a shooting.
