In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Baltimore, the life of Melvin David Rogers, a 43-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On September 29, 2024, at approximately 11:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Wilhelm Street. Upon their arrival, they found Rogers suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
