An evening of violence in Opelousas, Louisiana, on December 1, 2022, tragically cut short the life of 19-year-old Alexia Joubert. She and a companion, 21-year-old Samijah Leday, were discovered inside a parked vehicle on Ina Clare Drive, the car riddled with an overwhelming number of bullet holes. The two young women were pronounced dead at the scene, both having suffered multiple gunshot wounds in what was described as a hail of gunfire.
