On a summer evening in New Orleans, Jason "Big Jay" Carter, a 41-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on June 8, 2022. The incident that claimed his life took place around 5:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Josephine Street.
Responding to a call about a shooting, New Orleans Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
