In the late morning of Monday, May 23, 2022, tragedy struck in Shreveport, Louisiana, ending the life of 41-year-old Spencer D. Merritt. A resident of the 3100 block of Fulton Street, Merritt was engaged in renovation work at a family residence in the city's mid-city Ingleside neighborhood when he was fatally shot multiple times. The Caddo Parish Coroner's office later confirmed his identity and pronounced him dead at the scene at 12:05 p.m.
