In the spring of 2022, a journey from Houston to Lake Charles, Louisiana, ended in tragedy for 18-year-old Jacob Yarbrough. On the night of Friday, March 25th, Yarbrough, a male, and his companion, 22-year-old James Malik Johnson, also from Houston, were involved in a fatal shooting near the intersection of Common and LaGrange streets. Both men were identified as the victims of what law enforcement authorities described as a double homicide.
