On December 30, 2021, Michael Anthony Florent Jr., a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. The incident occurred in the 500 block of South Clark Street, where police discovered him deceased shortly after 7 p.m. Another 19-year-old, Melvin Meredith, was also killed in the same incident.
