In the late hours of a Tuesday night in New Orleans, the vibrant sounds of the city were tragically silenced for one young musician. On June 1, 2021, 19-year-old David Phillips was found lifeless on a sidewalk in the Algiers neighborhood. The New Orleans Police Department responded to a medical call just after 11:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of MacArthur, where they discovered Phillips lying face-up, having been shot to death.
