In the late hours of a Thursday in New Orleans, the life of 31-year-old Don Miner, a Black/African American man, was tragically cut short. On August 18, 2016, officers from the Seventh District responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 4800 block of Longfellow Street. Inside a residence, they found Miner suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
