In January of 2020, the community of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was shaken by the death of Chedrick Golphin, a 44-year-old African American man. At the time of his death, Golphin was a respected figure, serving as a part-time police officer with the New Roads Police Department and also working as a bounty hunter. His life, however, was cut short when he was found shot to death in the back of an abandoned vehicle on Lanier Drive on January 13th.
