On the evening of September 5, 2018, a young Black man named Michael Ennis, 22, was found shot to death in Avondale, a suburb of New Orleans. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office identified Ennis as the victim of the fatal shooting.
Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Avondale Garden Road around 8 p.m. after reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Ennis inside a vehicle, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
