In the fall of 2017, the community of Marrero, Louisiana, was shaken by the violent deaths of two young men. Among them was Brandon Davis, a 23-year-old African American male, who was fatally shot on October 23, 2017. His life was cut short alongside 27-year-old Derielle Bernard in what authorities would later describe as a drug-related robbery gone tragically wrong.
