On the evening of March 18, 2016, the life of 45-year-old Deon Ellis, a Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ellis was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the driver's seat of his vehicle, which had crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of West 78th Street and Broadway Avenue.
