In the spring of 2010, the life of 29-year-old Rickey Vaughn was violently cut short on the streets of New Orleans. On the morning of Wednesday, April 21, 2010, Vaughn was walking through the B.W. Cooper housing complex in Central City when he was targeted in a brazen shooting. The attack, which occurred around 11:20 a.m., left him with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. He was rushed from the scene but succumbed to his severe injuries several hours later.
