In the warm twilight of a Shreveport, Louisiana evening on July 21, 1979, a dedicated public servant's life was tragically cut short. Ronald Euell "Ronnie" Dean, a 33-year-old White/Caucasian male, had served as a patrolman with the Shreveport Police Department for four years.
