In the autumn of 1902, New Orleans Patrolman Charles Doyle was a dedicated officer serving his city. A husband and father to two children, his life was irrevocably altered one October day. While on duty, he responded to a disturbance near the intersection of Melpomene and St. Charles Streets, where he attempted to arrest a man causing trouble.
