On March 2, 2020, 25-year-old Zaire Williams, a former Temple University football player, was shot and killed in North Philadelphia. Williams, who was originally from Sicklerville, New Jersey, was found on the 1800 block of West Montgomery Avenue around 4 a.m. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Anthony Nieves, a 22-year-old man from Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Williams' death
