On August 1, 2023, at approximately 3:12 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to a shooting incident on the 3800 block of I Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old Eric Cruz-Romero lying on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The officers immediately transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
