On December 15, 2012, 16-year-old Michael Lopez was shot and killed in Parlier, California, by his uncle, Robert Sampson Lopez. The incident took place at the Salandini Villa Apartments in Parlier. Authorities were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. and discovered Michael Lopez lying dead from gunshot wounds inside his apartment. He was transported to Adventist Medical Center but was later pronounced dead.
