Najee Rivera, a 23-year-old African American man from Philadelphia, PA, tragically died on December 5, 2015, from injuries sustained during a shooting. Rivera was shot in the side during an altercation near the intersection of C and Somerset streets in Kensington. He was attempting to break up a fight between two women when a man, who knew the women, allegedly shot him. Initially, it seemed Rivera might recover, but he succumbed to his injuries 15 days later at Temple University Hospital.
