In the summer of 2015, the life of 16-year-old Shakur Omarr Franklin was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in Erie, Pennsylvania. On the night of Saturday, July 25, 2015, Franklin was at a party when gunfire erupted from a passing SUV. He was struck and fatally wounded, and four other people were injured in the chaotic scene. Franklin was rushed to UPMC Hamot, but tragically succumbed to his injuries. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 4, 1999.
