On a summer evening in Chester, Pennsylvania, the life of Saleem Allen, a 32-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. On June 19, 2011, Allen was shot multiple times just a block away from the Gold Room bar, a place he had visited earlier that night. Emergency services rushed him to the Crozer-Chester Medical Center, but his injuries proved fatal.
