On a Sunday morning in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 35-year-old Israil Gervacio Velasquez, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short. On September 14, 2014, in the 1500 block of Bessemer Road, a violent encounter left Velasquez with fatal gunshot wounds. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a car stopped in the middle of the road. Outside the vehicle, they found both Velasquez and a female companion on the ground, both having been shot.
