Jose Armando Pina, a 23-year-old Hispanic man from Bryan, Texas, tragically lost his life on March 30, 2019. He was described as a kind and reliable individual who was deeply devoted to his family. On the day of his death, Jose was visiting his cousin in the 1700 block of West Virginia Street in Bryan. While waiting in his car, he was shot during an aggravated robbery.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Jose succumbed to his injuries within hours.
The investigation into Jose's murder quickly led to the identification of a suspect. Bryan police officers discovered a white vehicle used by the killer to escape the scene. The vehicle was traced back to Cameron Krumrey, who was found with a rifle and other incriminating evidence in his possession. Krumrey initially refused to cooperate with the police but was later taken into custody. During questioning, scratch marks on his arms suggested he had fled through the vines at the crime scene.
Further evidence, including surveillance footage and witness testimonies, linked Krumrey to the murder. In September 2021, Cameron Krumrey pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
