On August 2, 2023, the Brazos County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a deceased individual on Pleasant Hill Road in Bryan, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of 41-year-old Brandon J. Hall, who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The initial investigation treated the case as a suspicious death, but by August 3, authorities had gathered sufficient information to classify it as a homicide.
Through collaborative efforts with multiple agencies, investigators obtained leads directing them to a residence in Brenham, Texas. A search warrant executed at this location uncovered evidence linking two suspects to Hall's murder. The first suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile male, was apprehended within 48 hours on related charges. The second suspect, identified as 20-year-old Nariah Francis Reeves, was arrested on August 10, 2023, facing charges including murder, burglary, and theft of firearms. Reeves remains in custody at the Brazos County Jail with bonds totaling $400,000.
During interrogations, Reeves initially claimed the shooting was accidental. However, when confronted with text messages suggesting that she and the juvenile had conspired to murder Hall and rob him of money and firearms, she confessed to orchestrating the plan. Further evidence, including surveillance footage showing Reeves and the juvenile breaking into Hall's residence to steal a firearm, supported these allegations. In November 2023, a Brazos County Grand Jury indicted Reeves on charges of murder, theft of a firearm, and burglary of a habitation.
