On August 6, 2018, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Dallas Police Department officers responded to a call in the 2200 block of Lawrence Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Charles Washington, a 32-year-old Black male, inside a residence with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue had arrived earlier and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
