Adrian Quigley, a 23-year-old documented member of the Crips gang, turned himself in to the police the following day. Demico Stanley, a 22-year-old also linked to the Crips gang, fled to Louisiana but was later arrested and awaited extradition back to Lewisville. The incident was believed to have been over a drug deal, and capital murder warrants were issued based on the fact that the fatal shooting occurred during the commission of a robbery.
