On November 4, 2023, in Lewisville, Texas, 40-year-old Marco Polo Hernandez-Mejia was found deceased in the backyard of his residence, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his death as a homicide.

The investigation began when Glenn Heights police discovered an abandoned vehicle with a tampered ignition, leading them to suspect it was stolen. The vehicle was registered to Hernandez-Mejia's landlord. Lewisville police visited the ...
