Burney Kirk Archerd, a 15-year-old boy, died on September 2, 1961, in Los Angeles County, California. Burney was a victim of his uncle, William Dale Archerd, a serial killer who used insulin as his weapon of choice. William Dale Archerd, born in 1912, had a fascination with medicine and worked as a hospital attendant, where he learned about the effects of insulin. He used this knowledge to commit multiple murders over the years, including that of his nephew Burney.
