In the North Highland and Beallwood neighborhood of Columbus, Georgia, the afternoon of May 6, 2025, was shattered by gunfire. Around 5:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Vineville Street, a shooting incident left 17-year-old David Escobar with a fatal gunshot wound. Columbus Police officers arrived at the scene to find the teenager critically injured. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m. by the Muscogee County Coroner.
