In the late hours of a Monday evening in Kansas City, Missouri, the life of 18-year-old Deon W. Porter, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On May 5, 2025, passing motorists on U.S. 71 Highway near 75th Street made a grim discovery just after 10:30 p.m.; a person was lying in the roadway. Emergency services were immediately contacted, and upon arrival, Kansas City police found Porter suffering from gunshot wounds.
