On a January afternoon, James T. White, a 71-year-old African American man, was waiting at a bus stop in Shreveport, Louisiana, when his life was abruptly ended. The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on January 23, 2025, in the 500 block of East 70th Street, located in the Cedar Grove neighborhood. White was fatally shot in what became the third homicide in Shreveport and Caddo Parish that year.
