In the early morning hours of July 19, 2025, the quiet of a Bowie, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by a fatal gunshot inside a home on the 13200 block of Old Chapel Road. Inside, 53-year-old Damian Ward, a man described by friends as a big, friendly guy with an even bigger heart, was shot and killed. First responders arrived at the scene around 1:45 a.m. to find Damian Ward with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
