In the early morning hours of July 3, 2025, the life of 19-year-old Michael Allen was tragically cut short in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia. A Black male, Allen had just left his home on Wakefield Street for a ride on his electric scooter shortly after dawn. Minutes later, at approximately 5:31 a.m., the sound of gunfire broke the morning quiet on the 200 block of East Rittenhouse Street, near the Morton Playground.
